A recipe copied into the margin of a much-loved book, its pages dusted with flour and confectioner’s sugar. Brown sugar melts into the crumb as spice rises with the warmth of the oven, and somewhere nearby a wooden spoon rests against the edge of the bowl, sweet batter still clinging to it. The first slice is cut too soon, thickly swirled with tangy cream-cheese frosting and eaten while the cake is still warm, crumbs scattered across a porcelain plate beside a cup of tea gone quiet in the afternoon light.

Golden Crumb is a true bakery gourmand — opening with the earthy sweetness of freshly shredded carrot folded into spiced batter, before dark muscovado richness and a cloud of powdered sugar melt into dense, buttery cake. The frosting is generous and slightly tart, softening the sweetness and giving way to a smooth, creamy sandalwood that lingers on the skin like the memory of something homemade and deeply loved.

This fragrance is a love letter to celebration and comfort, to recipes kept for years and brought out for the moments that matter most. It was inspired by the carrot cake from my wedding day — warm with spice, thick with frosting, and forever golden.
