Since a couple customers have commented on avoiding Red No. 6, I wanted to share some information. Red 6 is proven safe in both the US and Europe (which has even more rigorous health standards). It’s commonly used to color many everyday over the counter medications, such as Asprin. Not all red dyes are alike, and I do realize that many aren’t safe, but based on science, Red 6 is. The Red dyes proven harmful are Red 3 and Red 40. The major downside of the clean skin movement is that it has people thinking that anything “chemical” is unsafe, remember water and oxygen are both chemicals. Aside from the fact that Red 6 is proven safe, it makes up less than 1% of the ingredients in Aker Fassi. We’re likely getting a larger dose of harmful pollutants from the air we breath on the daily, so I wouldn’t worry about a minuscule amount of an ingredient in Aker Fassi that has been proven to be safe in multiple scientific studies.
